AND SO IT BEGINS…

The names of the Royal Family have meaning, each carefully selected one week after their birth. Ares Drayden. His only son Pax Drayden. Their names are known to everyone in the galaxy. Their meanings plain.

But nicknames – these are different. Nicknames have significance. They are earned, not given. Ares: The First Among Men. The Grand Unifier. The Rider of Wasps. The Immolation King. The Birth of Fire. The Last Drayden. There are more. They speak of his rule, of his line and conquests and how he brought a galaxy through the last of the two Robot Wars.

Crown Prince Pax Drayden, born in a tenuous galactic peace between humans and robots, between and among human tribes. His moniker was deliberate, chosen by Ares in the ceremony of Naming, his mother approving and making it official.

The nicknames Pax earned are many. A few speak to who he would become on the other side of his Transformation: The Third of Three. The Perpetual Man. The Rider of Dragons and Circuits. He Who Walks Through History.

Pax would accumulate many, most of which he did not relish. One nickname came early, spread by human and robot, during his year of Orientation (also known as his Flight). That nickname was: Survivor.
